List of Post-Safavid travel accounts reviewed

Review of post-Safavid Travel Accounts

English language and some French accounts were reviewed in Gabriel’s Die Erforschung Persiens . to seek travellers who might have used the Lar-Bandar 'Abbas route after 1720.  They are listed in the order in which they occur in Gabriel, under his section headings, and while they take in the principal accounts in English the search was unlikely to be complete.

The conclusion was that only Rochechouart (1867) and Wilson (1907) reported making the journey, and both accounts are discussed in the text of the article.  Floor reports also that Sadid al-Saltana, reporting in Persian, made the journey in 1896.
